Amie is a Senior Solicitor qualified under the Immigration & Asylum Accreditation Scheme (IAAS) as a Level 3 (Advanced) Caseworker and Supervisor. This is the highest level of accreditation and only a handful of people in the UK have achieved this level.

Qualifications & Experience
Amie Higgins specializes in all aspects of immigration, asylum and human rights work. Although she undertakes work at every level, from initial application to appeal, Amie focuses on more complex high level cases. These include many cases in the Upper Tribunal, Court of Appeal and Judicial Review matters. Amie has an impressive success rate and is a highly sought after practitioner. After seven years managing a busy immigration department in another firm, Amie set up Bankfield Heath Solicitors in March 2012.
Amie is well known and respected in the field for her committed work with victims of human trafficking and domestic violence. Her work on cases involving Article 8 ECHR is particularly impressive and she has secured Leave to Remain in the UK for many clients based on their private and family life here. Amie works closely with women’s refuges, support groups and Social Services throughout Yorkshire and beyond and is praised for handling sensitive cases with the care and sensitivity which is needed when working with vulnerable clients.
Amie is instructed by a number of local and national businesses and advises on corporate immigration law in relation to sponsorship licences (including applications, maintenance and revocation), Points Based System (PBS) visas and Civil Penalties.
Amie won Immigration Lawyer of the Year award in 2010 for her work in immigration. In particular, Amie was praised for her ability to put vulnerable clients at ease.
An experienced trainer, Amie has delivered training on issues relating to refugee children, the asylum process, age disputes, fresh claims, family reunion and Judicial Review to a number of different sectors. She teaches and consults at local Universities and has spoken at numerous seminars, consultations and local group meetings. Amie provides expert reports and witness testimony on all immigration matters and her evidence has been relied upon in a number of cases.
